Around the world, 5,000 children die each day from diseases caused by dirty water. Thanks to support from Hope Africa's amazing supporters, we have been able to drill boreholes in some of the neediest parts of Malawi. The difference that clean water ic making to the lives of 1000s of people in Malawi is life-saving! The economic position of poor families can be dramatically improved when thye have access to clean water.

Children can learn at school - if they have clean water to drink and toilets with handwashing facilities.

How the project works:

Hope Africa provides funding for boreholes and makes repairs to existing. Since 2003, we have drilled 8 boreholes ensuring that 1000s of families have access to clean, safe water.

First, our team conducts a feasibility study in an area with few bore-holes. Once the location of the bore-holes has been agreed with the relevant stakeholders a ‘water company’ is commissioned to drill a bore-hole.

Without safe water, overcoming poverty is just a dream. But when you help us to dig a well or install a tap stand in a community, you change the lives of children like Andrew.

Drill and provide more new boreholes and when necessary repair damaged ones to enable families to drink safe and clean water.

Purchase a borehole drilling machine so that we can drill boreholes in Malawi.

Ensure that thousands more people have access to adequate safe water and sanitation.
